Busy

This week has been busy.  

The triathlon that I signed up to in a moment of madness is only two weeks away, so I'm running and cycling round lakes like there's no tomorrow (sort of).  I turned a year older, an amazing friend gave me a bottle of wine with my name on it.  Last night we saw a great concert, and watched some pretty exciting dancing. And I made some individual caramel macadamia cheesecakes.

Next weekend I'm going swimming with sharks.

Melbourne, Day Three

This place just gets better and better. Day three consisted of: Queen Victoria Markets; Melbourne Museum; some live classical music in an old woodwork building; supper at Longrain and much, much more.

 

Annalakshmi & Tim Minchin

Last night we had a quick supper at Annalakshmi before heading over to the Perth Concert Hall to see Tim Minchin.  Although it had only been open 15 minutes the place was almost full, with increasingly long queues for the delicious food.

Tim Minchin was brilliant.  'Song For Phil Daoust' was a highlight; a response to a Guardian article written about Tim in 2005... which Phil Daoust is probably now rather regretting.

Two weeks

Over the past two weeks 90% of the space in my brain has been occupied with thoughts about sourdough.  5% has been filled with cake, which leaves 5% for this stuff...

My album of the moment is Veckatimest by Grizzly Bear.  If I was allowed I'd play it on repeat, but apparently this can become tiresome.  So I've been watching this video daily to get my fix (thanks Dooce!)

In other news, we've seen four great films in the past couple of weeks.  UP (which is a must see in 3D) made me cry and stop breathing from laughing at the same time.  

Ponyo was stunning, and I could have watched the whole thing over again straight away.

The September issue was very funny, and made me very relieved that I don't work in the fashion business...

And finally Moon, which we saw yesterday (Conor won tickets on the radio) was very moving and though provoking, and a must see when it comes out properly.

Oh happy day! (Part II)

Today I signed for another whole lot of stuff to be delivered from London... after six months we finally have something on our walls.
