How did six days go by so quickly? Our last day in Melbourne consisted of an acer-than-ace breakfast at Proud Mary, a walk through Fitzroy Gardens (and a glance at Australia's oldest house), shopping on Brunswick St, a drink at Grace Darling followed by supper at GigiBaba (with Chris and Julia from Masterchef, don'tcha know).
Melbourne made me feel very homesick, perhaps because it's quite like London. Since we got back I've been repeating my new mantra frequently: Perth has better beaches than Melbourne. Perth has better beaches than Melbourne. Perth has better beaches than Melbourne. Perth has better beaches than Melbourne.
And who needs daylight savings anyway?
Small world indeed! Never been to Mooba but hear many people raving about it. I should pop in and say hello (and try some of your fare - your cooking looks AMAZING). We're in East Perth, and I work at Murdoch Uni. Loved your post re the Melbourne place open 'very, very late'. When we were in Sydney we went out for a meal at 9:30 just for the novelty of not being told the kitchen was closed!

Hi Val!
I've just sent you a tweet on Twitter, I think we might have talked via my work name (@Mooba)? What a small world it is. I've just ready every entry on your blog, and it's quite reassuring to know that someone else feels the same way.
Where are you living at the moment? We're in West Leederville, and I work in Subiaco.

Hi! I found your blog via Ginny and this post made me giggle. I've just returned to Perth after a few days in Sydney and have been trying to talk Perth up in my mind ever since! Unfortunately I don't particularly like the beach, so that one doesn't work... Will keep trying while planning my escape to the east coast!
